Notices - 10th December 2023 - 2nd week in Advent

1. Feast this week: Wed, Dec 13, St. Lucy (Virgin and Martyr)

2. ‘The Angelic Voices’ parish children choir will be hosting an EVENING OF CAROLS tomorrow/today, at 6.30 pm in the church. All are welcome.

 

3. As part of their preparation for Christmas, the Johannian Youth will have a session and a Q/n/A on the Sacrament of Reconciliation on Wednesday, December 13th immediately after the evening mass for all our youth. Attendance is compulsory for the Confirmands. 

 

4. Friends of Jesus (Sunday School) will be having their Annual Day on Sat, Dec 16 from 6:30 p.m. onwards at the CSP Piazza.

 

5. As part of our Advent preparations, the Parish is organizing a talk on the INFANCY NARRATIVES according to St Luke on Saturday, 16th December immediately after the evening mass. All are invited.

 

6. Sacrament of Confession for the season of Advent will be heard on 17th, 18th, and 19th December in the morning and evening. Please check the notice board for the timings.

 

7. Our Parish School will be issuing admission forms for JR.KG and Nursery for 2024-2025. Please note Catholics will collect the admission forms from the parish office on Mon, Dec 11, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. For details kindly look up the noticeboard. 

 

8. The Johannian Youth, in collaboration with the English CCR, is organizing an Advent Night Vigil on December 18th from 8 pm to 12 am, for all our youth. The youth will be prayed over and the priests will also be available for confessions. 

 

9. Johannian Stalwarts Senior Citizen group is organizing a Christmas party on Thu, Dec 28th at 5:00 pm at the JWC 1st floor. Registration of Rs. 50/- can be done at the parish office. Latest by Fri, Dec 23. 

 

10. The Centre for Social Action, has organized their Advent Campaign against Hunger and Disease. Envelopes are kept near the altar. Drop the same in the box kept near the altar.

 

11. The parish fathers would like to thank the communities of St. Joseph, St. John Paul II, and St. Francis Xavier for their hospitality during the visits. Vastations were competed last Monday. The visits will resume after the Christmas season.
